Barber cuts a deal with Harley Davidson in Nottingham

Nottingham’s newest barber shop, The Dandy Gent, has teamed up with the city’s largest motorcycle dealership, Robin Hood Harley Davidson, to provide big savings on haircuts, beard styling, cool clothing and bike parts!

In this ‘match made in heaven’, Robin Hood Harley Davidson will be including a half-price Dandy Gent poker chip in its motorcycle purchase packs, and The Dandy Gent will be giving away 15% off Harley parts and accessory poker chips to its customers with a taste for the world’s finest motorcycles.

The promotion will herald the start of a new relationship between the Nottingham neighbours, with plans afoot for The Dandy Gent to provide free barbering services at the dealership’s Christmas Party in support of the local Harley Owner’s Group charity – Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

Said Ian Jennings, Manager of Robin Hood Harley Davidson, “It’s great to work with local businesses like The Dandy Gent.  Our customers often have a lot in common, so it makes sense to team up whenever we can.”

Ian is getting ready for the exclusive launch of the new Harley Davidson Electric Motorcycle before Christmas. His store will be one of only a handful in the UK to have groundbreaking machine in store for test rides.

“My name will be on the list for a test ride for sure.” said Dandy Gent founder, Shane O’Shaughnessy.  Both Shane and Nottingham Manager, Sarah are keen Harley riders and advocates of the iconic brand.

Details of the Christmas party and the launch of the new Harley Davidson Live Wire will be shared on The Dandy Gent’s Instagram and Facebook pages soon.

Grooming essentials for gents

The growth of men’s interest in fine grooming is never more evident than when you spend just five minutes in Derby’s most talked about barbershop, The Dandy Gent. Here are the essentials to a fine daily regime, from Master Barber, Shane O’Shaughnessy, its owner and founder.

A superior shave
Invest in a good weighty razor and quality blades. Always use shaving oil to soften the skin and hair, then a quality shaving cream or soap to aid a close, smooth shave. Finish with a splash of cold water and massage in a good re-hydration gel. Using the right products will stop dryness, redness, rashes and burning – guaranteed!

Feed the Beard
Bearded gents – massage in a few drops of beard oil to soften your hair and reduce redness and inflammation of your skin around the follicle.

If it’s more control you’re looking for, get the same conditioning benefits from our beard balm.

Facial-fuzz once-over
Check your face, neck, brows, ears, nose and throat for any fuzz, strays and hair growth that are blurring your lines. Pluck, shave or trim as needed – or ask your barber to help.

Our barbers will line out your face, neck and chin for an extra-sharp finish, if that’s the look you’re after.

Moisturise
Whatever the time of year, invest in a good light moisturiser with a Sun Protection Factor of 15. Drink plenty of water throughout the day too, and hydrate from within!

For the best advice on your grooming regime, always talk to your Dandy Gent barber – that’s what we’re here for!
