We are, of course, delighted that the war on COVID is allowing reduced restrictions, but as you all know continued vigilance is required.
Victory is in sight, but it can be quickly snatched away from us if we are not ‘alert’ to cleanliness and social distancing. This in mind we have set a list of ‘House Rules’ that we need you to follow whilst in our shops. These are detailed further down, but first, let us tell you what we are doing to help you…
We’re doing our bit:
Following are changes to our usual service, in place to keep us all safe and our shop open:
Creating extra space – your shop will look a little different as we rearrange to allow for social distancing.
Doing extra cleaning – chairs and stations will be disinfected between all clients. Equipment is disinfected between clients as usual. Gowns/coverings will be one per client. This will be relaxed for clients living in the same household.
Our barbers and staff will all wear facial coverings (not mandatory) and visors (mandatory) – gloves will be worn wherever practicable. Visors AND masks will always be worn by barbers carrying out shaves and beard trims.
Sanitiser will be used by all barbers regularly and available for you to use as often as you wish during your time with us.
We will be offering self-serve drinks to avoid risk when handling cups etc. We may serve you wearing with single-use gloves and wearing facial covering if you are unable to make your own and by request. Cups are disposable.
We will provide extended hours where we can – this will be on a barber by barber basis. Additional hours are available on the booking system now – including the first two Sundays in July at Irongate and all Sundays in July Nottingham (subject to demand). Nuns Street will be offering appointments up to 9pm on selected days and Craig will be offering longer hours for regular clients on request.
We are taking only bookings online and sadly discouraging walk-ins. Due to limited space in the shops to enable safe social distancing we will find walk-in enquiries and waiting difficult to manage – therefore most walk-in enquiries at our established Derby shops will be turned away and encouraged to download our App and book in online. In a nutshell, if it is safe to do so, pop in and ask – but only if you can do so by not entering anybody else’s 2M personal space.
We are asking clients to arrive ON TIME and not early to avoid waiting and congestion for our customers who are booked in. Waiting restrictions will be in place and strictly adhered to.

Book online – walk-ins are strongly discouraged for the safety of your fellow customer and our staff.
Arrive on time – if you are early, please wait outside or tour the local sights until your exact appointment time.
ONLY ENTER THE SHOP IF YOUR ARE SYMPTOM-FREE AND HAVE BEEN ADHERING TO SOCIAL DISTANCING.
Sanitise your hands on entry and exit.
Bring your own mask and any extra PPE you wish to adorn.
Adhere to 2M** social distancing at all times – except, of course, your barber or anyone living in the same household as you. We will facilitate this, but you are ultimately responsible. Anyone flouting this will be given one gentle warning – if ignored, for the sake of all clients and barbers in the shop, will reluctantly be asked to leave.
Be patient – there may be some extra waiting due to haircutting and cleaning time. This may impact on you on arrival, but we will do our very best to avoid asking you to ‘wait outside a little longer’ for example.
Be vigilant with cleanliness and sanitising when using the W.C. Ideally avoid using public toilets where possible, but sanitiser and bottled soap will be readily available.
We are delighted to be re-opening for you after all this time and reiterate the ‘be vigilant’ message that you will see on posters throughout the shops. Thank you for your patience throughout and we can’t wait to tackle your extra lockdown locks and get you back in shape!
